Falcons rip winless Warriors
MANILA, Philippines — Adamson University scored a wire-to-wire victory over the hapless University of the East, 79-60, in the nightcap of Sunday’s UAAP action at the Big Dome.
The Soaring Falcons went on an 11-0 tear to open the game, and they never looked back.
Import Papi Sarr scattered 15 markers while Sean Manganti chimed in 10 more.
“This is the first time in the season that we're above .500,” said head coach Franz Pumaren. “Hopefully, this can help us in our coming games — especially against University of the Philippines.”
“We’ve been working hard for this, so I’m not surprised," shared Manganti.
Mark Olayon and Alvin Pasaol combined for 31 point but it was not enough to dig the Warriors out of a rut.
This is the second straight victory for Adamson, which defeated National University. They managed to widen the gap with Warriors by as many as 20
The Falcons will next take on the Fighting Maroons, whom they share an identical 3-2 record. They lock horns this Wednesday.
The slumping Warriors remain winless in five outings. They face an uphill battle also this Wednesday when they tackle defending champion De La Salle University, also at the Big Dome.
