MANILA, Philippines — Far Eastern University tries to recover lost ground and inch closer to a semifinal berth as it takes on also-ran Jose Rizal University in Group A action in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan today.

The Lady Tamaraws suffered their first loss after a 2-0 start in a 22-25, 28-26, 29-27, 25-22 beating from unbeaten National University but are heavily favored to get past winless Lady Bombers in their 4 p.m. encounter.

Bernadeth Pons and Toni Basas spearhead FEU against the Shola Alvarez-led JRU which hopes to at least cap off their stint with a victory after losing their first four matches.

Meanwhile, Lyceum tries to rebound from a setback against second-running Ateneo the last time out and keep its flickering semis hopes alive against ousted San Sebastian in another Group A match at 6:30 p.m.

The Lady Pirates absorbed a straight-set loss against the Lady Eagles in their previous outing, sending them to the fourth spot with a 1-2 mark.

The Lady Stags, already out of contention at 1-3, hope to arrest a two-game slide and end their campaign in the season-ending conference organized by Sports Vision and backed by Mikasa and Asics on a winning note.
