Pacquiao debuts Anta gear at 'Battle of Brisbane'

MANILA, Philippines — The "Battle of Brisbane" will be Manny Pacquiao's debut under Chinese sportswear company Anta.
Pacquiao and Anta reached an agreement last November last year after sports giant Nike terminated its contract with him over derogatory remarks about same-sex couples in February 2016.
Pacquiao said in a TV interview that same-sex couples were "worse than animals."
Nike, in response, described Pacquiao's comments as abhorrent.
"Nike strongly opposes discrimination of any kind and has a long history of supporting and standing up for the rights of the LGBT community. We no longer have a relationship with Manny Pacquiao," the company said.

Anta has been sponsoring other boxers, including Chinese boxers Zou Shiming and Yang Linahui.
Even after the terminated contract, Pacquiao wore his Nike gear in his fight against Timothy Bradley in Las Vegas last April.
