MANILA, Philippines — If there's someone happier than most in BaliPure's reception and blocking, it was head coach Roger Gorayeb as the Water Defenders forced Game Three in the Premiere Volleyball League finals at the PhilSports Arena Tuesday.
Bali Pure did everything right in the crucial moments en route to a 25-15, 26-24, 24-26, 24-26, 15-13 victory over Pocari Sweat.
One clutch highlight stuck in Gorayeb's head after the game, a block by import Jennifer Keddy on Pocari's Krystal Rivers that put them at match point, 14-12.
"Sabi ko nga kay Keddy, 'yung block niya na 'yun was the best block of the night," Gorayeb said.
Leading two sets to none, Bali Pure was on the e verge of a sweep, but Pocari had the right tools to keep themselves in the game and force a fifth set.
"Ilang games nang last (point) na kami, tapos matatalo. Naulit na naman ngayon, dalawang set pa," told Gorayeb.
Nonetheless, Gorayeb still commended the team's effort and vowed to prepare for Game Three.
"It's a do-or-die thing. Wala nang atrasan 'yun," he said. "Patigasan na ng dibdib 'yan." - Randell Angelo B. Ritumalta
