MANILA, Philippines — Andre Paras' return to the hardwood was spoiled by Cignal HD, 86-76, in the 2017 PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena Tuesday.
Paras, who currently plays for AMA Online Education, had five points and 10 rebounds in 35 minutes of action in the loss.
"It's actually a great experience for me kasi it's been a long time since I played a competitive game," said Paras.
He last played for the University of the Philippines in the UAAP in 2013 before moving to San Beda's team B.
The 6-foot-4 Paras knows that his height is not much of a factor and needs to work on the physical preparation.
"I'm going to be outside mostly kasi at this moment you can't really go out against guys that are stronger," added Paras.
"Kapa pa rin e. I really have to work on my outside game."
But the player-turned-actor assured that his D-League stint is still in line with his other works.
"Lenient at supportive din naman 'yung (GMA) network with me. I do love doing both and it's more like if you love something, you go for it," the 21-year-old Paras said. - Randell Angelo B. Ritumalta
