Kanter due to launch foundation
MANILA, Philippines - Oklahoma City Thunder big man Enes Kanter hits town tomorrow to launch a charitable foundation aimed at helping poor kids.
The 6-11 Turkish center has partnered with Fountain International School, one of the premiere and Cambridge certified institutions, in forming the “Enes Kanter Light Foundation” wherein it will focus on bringing shelter, food, education and resources to underprivileged youth.
The first beneficiary of this partnership will be White Cross Orphanage wherein Kanter will give gifts and other supplies Thursday morning.
Kanter will then proceed to the Greenhills West Clubhouse in San Juan for a talk and play an exhibition game with students of Fountain International School along with selected students.
Kanter was selected third overall by the Utah Jazz in the 2011 NBA draft before he was traded to the Thunder where he got the chance to play with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook four years later.
