CKSC battles Mapua in Freego Cup opener

MANILA, Philippines - High school basketball takes center stage as Chiang Kai Shek College tries to prove a point even as Far Eastern University and National University renew their rivalry when the 10th Freego Cup unwraps on Tuesday at the Buddhacare gym in Quezon City.

Tournament director Horacio Lim said four games are scheduled on the opening day of the nine-team tournament serving as a pre-season tournament for UAAP and NCAA teams.

“We have four teams each from UAAP and NCAA and one from the Fil-Chinese school so we expect another interesting race for the title,” said Lim. “And again, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to the management of Freego for keeping its tradition to prepare the these high school teams in their campaigns for their respective leagues.”

Bannered by John Martin Galinato, Joshua Ramirez and Bacolod’s Donn Lim, the Blue Dragons begin their back-to-back bid against the NCAA champion Mapua Red Robins at 3:15 p.m.
