Abad, Sing rule Head Jr tennis

MANILA, Philippines - Danna Mariella Abad secured two titles while Andre Kenny Sing won the 12-and-under boys’ singles trophy in the second leg of 19th Head Junior Tennis Satellite Circuit over the weekend at the Flores Village Tennis Club in Davao City.

Abad won over Winona Cabardo in the 16-U (6-3, 6-2) and 18-U (6-2, 6-3), while took the 12-U boys crown over Cedric Pamplona, 6-1, 6-2 in the tournament organized by HEAD Philippines distributor Dynamic Sports.

Davao’s Joji Taketomi bashed John Rey Litang, 4-1, 4-1, for the 10-U title. 

The competition is sponsored by Chris Sports, the nationwide sports retail chain, Toalson strings, UBE Express, the Premium Airport Bus Service, media partners People’s Television, Aksyon Sports, Business Mirror and Philippine Locale, Cook, Health and Fitness.

John David Velez won over Matt Steve Palasan, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, to bag the 18-U title, while Klyde Lagarde outplayed Vince EJ Tugada, 6-3, 2-6, 6-2, to bag the 16-U title. 

Other winners were Joaquin Karl Palo over Cedric Pamplona, 6-1, 6-0 (14-U), Maria Jaden Orquia over Cielo Caorte, 6-3, 6-3 (12-U), Minette Bentillo over Theresa Nacito, 6-1, 6-1 (14-U).
