There’s an app that’s easily downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store guaranteeing you instant access to a wide array of sports windows, including live games, highlights, talk shows and breaking news and if you’re not on board, you’re missing out on what could be the biggest breakthrough in anytime-anywhere sports viewing yet.
It’s not just sports that Fox+ is offering in its video on-demand internet streaming service. Sports, of course, is the component that I’m most interested in. But you can also access the latest TV series shown on the same day in the US and the latest movies shortly after they’re released in theatres, both often a year before other subscription services. So you’re way ahead in the race. That’s not all. The menu includes documentaries, too.
What’s more, Fox+ makes it extremely easy for you to join in because it’s available on any device – mobile, tablet, laptop – whether you’re at home or moving around town. It’s a knockout deal that starts with an initial 30-day free trial. You can’t go wrong. If you like it and I’m sure you will, you’ll stick with it because what’s there not to like?
The lineup of blockbuster movies includes hits like ”Deadpool,” “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” and “The Revenant.” I’m a huge Western fan so I could watch Leonardo DiCaprio and “The Revenant” over and over again and Fox+ now gives me the opportunity to enjoy the film repeatedly. The roster of series includes “The Walking Dead,” “Homeland,” “The Young Pope” and “24 Legacy” and you won’t need to wait a minute longer from when they’re aired in the US. The documentaries offer titles like “Killing Reagan,” “Story of God with Morgan Freeman” and National Geographic specials.
The sports segment is broken down into Latest News, Highlights, Live Sports, Best of Basketball, Talk of the Town and shows. Whatever sports you’re interested in, Fox+ has it for you – WWE wrestling, F1 racing, US college basketball, NBA, soccer from different leagues all over the world, golf, badminton and more. You’re kept up to speed on what’s going on in the NBA. For instance, I caught the dramatic highlights of Dirk Nowitzki’s ascent to the 30,000 career point plateau during a Dallas Mavericks game against the Los Angeles Lakers. You’ll see Nowitzki’s record-making shot, his address to the Dallas fans for staying with him through the ups and downs of his NBA journey, an emotional moment with Mark Cuban and more.
Last Thursday, Fox Networks Group Asia launched Fox+ in the Blackbird at the Neilson Tower, Makati, and the event brought in VIPs and celebrities toasting the arrival of the first and only internet streaming service in Asia with an unrivaled menu of video on-demand options in high definition. In the Asia Pacific region, the app is initially available only in the Philippines and that’s a feather in the cap of Jude Turcuato, senior vice president and general manager of the Philippines at Fox Networks Group. The app will be offered across the region in the coming months.
Jude was once a sports broadcaster who popularized the term “Ka-Boom” whenever he called a three-point connection during a basketball coverage. He has successfully evolved into a top-notch network executive on top of over 30 channels that Fox provides in the country. In the cast of channels are Fox Sports Philippines, Fox Sports 2 Asia, Fox Sports 3 Asia and Fox Sports News Asia.
Zubin Gandevia, president of Fox Networks Group Asia Pacific and the Middle East, was in town for the launch. Executive vice president Rohit D’Silva and senior vice president for marketing and communications Lucien Harrington also attended. Since Fox+ is available in the country through PLDT, Cignal and Smart, PLDT chairman/president Manny V. Pangilinan, PLDT/Smart executive vice president and chief revenue officer Eric Alberto and PLDT chief corporate services officer Ray Espinosa graced the occasion. The partnership between Fox and the MVP Group delivers a strong signal of connectivity.
“Fox has always been focused on providing the best stories through TV shows, movies, documentaries and sports to its fans,” said Gandevia. “Fox+ is the evolution of this philosophy and will upgrade the TV viewing experience by giving our viewers freedom and choices never seen before on any internet streaming service. Fox+ will premiere the best TV shows from the US on the same day, it will showcase first-run Hollywood and Chinese series and movies, live sports, extensive back catalogues and a user experience that defines intuitive. For entertainment enthusiasts, the wait is over. There is no better video on-demand experience than Fox+.”
