DAVAO CITY , Philippines – Orchard completed a sweep of the Founders division plums in both the Seniors and Regular tournaments to share the spotlight in the 70th Philippine Airlines Interclub Golf Championship Saturday here.
Orchard’s bets in the Regular play held off Forest Hills in the battle for the Founders plum, winning by three points, 480 to 477, to duplicate the feat achieved by their triumphant Seniors’ counterparts a week ago.
Rodel Mangulabnan (31), Niko Santiano (30), Aaron Dimabuyu (29) and Raymund Sangil (27) scored as Orchard closed out with 117 and held off the Forest Hills’ final charge.
Also making the honor roll were Sherwood Hills, Sarangani, PGA of British Columbia, and Socal Redhawk.
Sherwood romped off with the Aviator crown at the expense of Lumbia, 413-382.
For its part, Sarangani edged Sta. Elena Golf in the Sportswriters’ division, 377-375, gaining from the final-day 109 spearheaded by Arthur Ong’s 29 and team captain Ryan Gotan’s 28.
