Two share World Slasher lead
MANILA, Philippines - James Uy of Manila (JU San Jose) and Paolo Malvar of Tarlac (PTM Sunhaven) came away with eight wins each last Sunday to zero in on the World Slasher Cup Invitational 9-cock derby crown at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Meanwhile, action in the final round resumes today with entries with 3, 3.5 and 4 points slugging it for crucial victories and crack at the coveted crown. Those earning 4.5 and 5 points tomorrow will advance to the finals.
Supported by Excellence Poultry and Livestock Specialists, Thunderbird, B-Meg and Petron with Pit Games Media Inc., this year’s WSC is hosted by Pintakasi of Champions.
“This year’s WSC is one of the toughest ever due to the new 9-cock format,’’ said WSC media partner Manny Berbano, host of the MB International 7-cock derby on Feb. 3 and 5 at Dasmarinas Coliseum.
Others in the hunt are Rep. Patrick Antonio, Tady Palma, Emman Eduarte, Eugene de Vera, Norman Bengco, Ferdie Lim, Nestor Vendivil, Claude Bautista, Patrick Villalon, Bentot Bagay, Mark Araneta and Alex Alea.
