MANILA, Philippines - Jeron Teng hopes the experience he would gain in the PBA D-League will serve as springboard to his future career in the pro league.
The 22-year-old Teng, who helped La Salle win the UAAP championship this season for his second title, will suit up for AMA in the D-League for a conference or two before applying for the 2017 PBA draft this October.
“I’m excited to play in the D-League and I hope all the experience I can get here will help me in the PBA,” said Teng in yesterday’s media conference .
Teng said he is happy with his team right now and looks forward to playing his first game in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup against Batangas at 3 p.m. today at the Ynarez Sports Arena.
“I’m very grateful to be given the opportunity to play in the D-League and I hope to contribute to my team right away,” said Teng.
In his collegiate career, Teng won two UAAP titles (2013, 2016), two Finals MVP (2013-2016) and the Rookie of the Year award (2012).
