MANILA, Philippines – The leading and rising junior players from Metro Manila and nearby provinces resume their chase for ranking points as they clash in the Palawan Pawnshop-Palawan Express Pera Padala Manila Southwoods leg regional age-group 2016 starting tomorrow at the Manila Southwoods Sports Club in Carmona, Cavite.
The long-running, nationwide PPS-PEPP circuit is marking its first stop at the Southwoods Sports Club with over 200 entries vying for top honors in the Group 2 tournament sponsored by Palawan Pawnshop and presented by Slazenger.
Camille So, Lila Salvacion, Megan Reyes and Amanda Zoleta banner the field in the girls’ premier 18-and-under division with Zoleta, Reyes and Salvacion also leading the 16-U cast of the six-day event sanctioned by Philta and backed by Asiatraders Corp., exclusively distributor of Slazenger.
The 14-year-old Zoleta and Salvacion are also entered in the 14-U class with the former as top seed and the latter gaining the No. 4 seeding with Julia Ignacio as No. 2 and Denise Bernardo as the third seed.
“We expect a spirited battle for top honors, this being the year’s third to last leg and everybody would want to close out the season on a winning note,” said Palawan Pawnshop president/CEO Bobby Castro, who has also lined up a bigger, busier calendar next year.
