MANILA, Philippines – Adamson and National University hacked out victories in varying fashions as they ruled their respective age-group divisions in the Milcu Got Skills Elite Showcase basketball tournament recently.
The Baby Falcons dominated the Diliman Preparatory School cagers to capture the 19-under championship at Lyceum gym with Gerry Abadiano spearheading Adamson’s charge before clinching the Most Valuable Player trophy.
The Bullpups, meanwhile, edged De La Salle-Zobel, 53-50, to wrest the 16-U crown at the FEU Morayta gym in the tournament sponsored by Milcu and sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.
Terrence Fortea finished with 13 points and five rebounds for the Bullpups on his way to bagging the MVP plum of the tournament backed by Basketball TV, Gerry’s Grill, Gatorade, Clyde Shoe Cleaner, Kawasaki, LGR, SLAM, Rain or Shine, Honda, Coach Athletic Trainers Tape, Secret Fresh, Mighty Sports, Nousha Kebabs and Barbeque, FMR Bus Services, and Patricio’s Online Sneaker Source.
The Baby Falcons and the Bullpups joined Ateneo as champions of the tournament after the Blue Eagles beat the Lyceum side, 57-52, in the 25-U finals.
Meanwhile, the Milcu Got Skills basketball tournament resumes this month with the Hard To Guard conference that will run until March with 12-U, 13-U, 16-U, 19-under, and 25-U tournaments on tap.
