Solar to air Vegas showdown

MANILA, Philippines - Solar Sports, in partnership with MP Promotions USA, has been tapped as the official broadcaster of the Manny Pacquiao-Jessie Vargas WBO welterweight fight on Nov. 5 at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas (Sunday morning in Manila).

“This letter confirms that MP Promotions USA, the co-promoter for the Pacquiao vs Vargas event, possesses the sole right to license the broadcast of the event in the territory of the Philippines,” according to the official correspondence from Top Rank’s General Counsel Harrison Whitman.

Solar Sports has actually been the official broadcaster of Pacquiao fights here since 2003 with the upcoming airing to also feature the Nonito Donaire-Jessie Magdaleno duel for the WBO super bantamweight title, marking the first time that two Filipino champions will headline a big boxing card.
