MANILA, Philippines – Gilas Pilipinas is back home after hacking it out in Tehran, Iran.

And despite crashing out of the FIBA Asia Challenge, new Gilas coach Josh Reyes expressed his deepest gratitute for those who played, helped and worked their hearts out for the sake of the national team.

"That is Puso," he says in the post.

Check out Reyes' full message here:

Reyes, the son of former national head coach Chot, led an all-amateur roster in the cagefest in Iran. He picked up the cudgels from Tab Baldwin, who last helmed Gilas during the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament here.

Reyes has been on the Gilas' sidelines since his father's as chief of the program.

He and the latest iteration of the national team – dubbed as Gilas 5.0 – registered only a win in five outings. They finished ninth in the tourney.
