MANILA, Philippines -- For National University's Jaja Santiago, playing in two overlapping leagues is just "mind over body."
While the 6-foot-5 spiker is currently playing in the 13th Shakey's V League Collegiate conference for NU, she is also donning the national colors for Foton in the Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship in Binan, Laguna.
"Sa akin kasi, kung saan kasi ako nakalagay ngayon, kung nasa Foton ako dun ako naka-focus and then tsaka mag adjust yung utak ko pagdating sa NU," Santiago said.
"Mabilis naman ako mag-adjust eh. Parehas naman volleyball yan."
Before the Lady Bulldogs will try to sweep the UP Lady Maroons in their semifinals series at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig, Santiago will first see action against Kazakhstan's Altay Okskemen in the morning.
"May naka-ready na po ako na service after ng game. Kung sa tingin po namin mag-aalangan ng oras, uuna na po ako," she said.
Santiago said fatigue will not be a factor, and NU supporters can expect her to give her 100 percent.
"Kung iisipin ko 'yung mga teammates ko dito (NU) na nangangailangan ng tulong ko yung pagod mawawala yan. Kailangan 'yung utak mo siya yung tumutulong sa katawan mo na maka recover. Mind over body lang talagal," Santiago added.
