MANILA, Philippines – Christopher “Bong” Go, special assistant to President Rodrigo Duterte, will join fun and festivities in the 2016 PBA All-Star Extravaganza, taking part in the exhibition match between the PBA Board of Governors versus the PBA media on Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
1-Pacman party list Rep. Mikee Romero, a former La Salle Archer who owns the GlobalPort Batang Pier ball club, plays with Go in the PBA team that will include commissioner Chito Narvasa, Meralco’s Al Panlilio, TNT’s Virgil Villavicencio, NLEX’s Ronald Dulatre, Ginebra’s Alfrancis Chua, Star’s Rene Pardo and GlobalPort’s Erick Arejola.
Another 1-Pacman party list Rep. Eric Pineda will be part of the PBA coaching staff including PBA chairman Robert Non and media affairs head Willie Marcial.
Go’s participation is an added spice to the 2016 PBA All-Star festivities featuring a new event in the PBA Women’s All-Star Game on Sunday. Key players in the regular PBA women’s 3x3 tournament, this time, compete in a regular 5-on-5 game.
Known to be a good shooter, Go will be having fun with friends from the PBA, taking time out from his hectic schedule as the main man behind the Chief Executive.
As the special assistant to the President, Go heads the Office of the President-Events Management Cluster (OP-EMC) with supervision over the Presidential Management Staff (PMS) and the Office of the Appointments Secretary. The OP-EMC is composed of the PMS, Presidential Security Group, Office of the Chief Presidential Protocol, Media Accreditation and Relations Office, and Radio-Television Malacañang.

The All-Star Weekend culminates with the keenly awaited North-vs-South All-Star Game on Sunday with Terrence Romeo, Mark Caguioa, Marc Pingris, Japeth Aguilar and Calvin Abueva leading the North team’s bid to repeat their victory in Puerto Princesa, Palawan last year.
Romeo, Caguioa, Pingris, Aguilar and Abueva make up coach Yeng Guiao’s starting unit versus coach Leo Austria’s James Yap, Scottie Thompson, Greg Slaughter, June Mar Fajardo and Joe Devance.
Coming off the bench for the North team are Jayson Castro, Alex Cabagnot, Gabe Norwood, Paul Lee, Ranidel de Ocampo, Stanley Pringle and Troy Rosario.
The South team’s reserves are Jeff Chan, JR Quinahan, Jericho Cruz, Chris Ross, Mark Barroca, RR Garcia, Carlo Lastimosa and Asi Taulava in his all-time record 14th All-Star participation.
The All-Star festivities are back at the Big Dome for the first time in seven years.
