MANILA, Philippines – Visiting Perth Glory FC of Australia rallied past UFL All Stars, 2-1, yesterday in the main event of the UFL All Star Weekend at Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Louis Clark drew first blood for the UFL side in the 13th minute but the A-League side countered with goals from Chris Harrold (22’) and Andrew Keogh (45+2’) for its first victory in its Philippine tour.
The Glory, who are in the country for a pre-season training camp, previously played Global FC to a 0-0 draw in the kickoff game. They will next mix it up with the Philippine Azkals over in Ilocos Sur on Tuesday.
In the backfoot after Clark converted on Robert Lopez Mendy’s delivery for UFL booters, the Aussies battled back and hit the equalizer as Harrold headed in a nifty cross from Marc Warren in the 22nd.
Keogh put Glory ahead just before the break, firing a grounded shot after some sneaky passing inside the box.
In the first game, the UFL Rest of the World All-Stars stamped their class on the UFL Philippines, 3-0.
The foreign stars took barely a minute into the match to break the ice, with Stephen Appiah finding the back of the net. Arthur Kouassi doubled the lead with a shot from close range in the 13th minute and Milad Behgandom capped the romp with his 85th minute conversion.
