MANILA, Philippines – Filipino prospect Albert Pagara, who suffered a knockout loss to a tough Cesar Juarez Sunday, has been discharged from the Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, California, where he underwent several tests.

According to ALA Promotions president and CEO Michael Aldeguer, Pagara’s promoter, all tests, including the CT scan, came back negative, giving Pagara a clean bill of health.

While saddened by Pagara’s setback, Aldeguer said the entire boxing card, which saw Albert’s brother Jason scoring a third-round knockout win over Mexican Abraham Alvarez, was a success.

“It is unfortunate that Albert Pagara suffered his first career loss tonight,” said Aldeguer.

“But on a positive note, we’re very grateful with the crowd turnout. We had exciting fights from the first bout down to the main event and tickets were sold out. Overall, it was a successful show – achieving ALA Promotions, ABS-CBN Sports, and TFC’s thrust to stage world-class boxing events all over the world. We’re excited to do even a bigger show later this year at a bigger venue in Stubhub Center, LA on September 24th,” he added.

Pagara was stopped by Juarez in the eighth round for his first loss in 27 fights.
