MANILA, Philippines - Fil-German goalkeeper Roland Muller joined the ranks of Europe-based Azkals mainstays bringing their act to the Philippines as he signed up with powerhouse Ceres La Salle FC.
“Yes it’s done. I’m so happy to sign with Ceres in the Philippines,” Muller announced on his Instagram account yesterday.
Muller linked up with the star-studded Ceres roster after a six-month loan spell with Etoile Carouge in the Swiss Promotion League. His contract with mother club Servette ended this week.
With Ceres, the 28-year-old Muller gets reunited with fellow Nationals Stephan Schrock, Manny Ott, Patrick Reichelt and Martin Steuble. He is expected to compete for the starting position with Louie Casas and Ed Sacapano.
“It’s an amazing step (for me) and I’m looking forward to see my new place (and face a) big challenge,” he said..
The Bacolod-based club made a similar announcement yesterday, stating that Muller is “on his way to the Philippines to join the Ceres family.”
Ceres is expected to add Muller to the roster during the UFL’s transfer window (July 18-31) and field him in the second round of the ongoing League play.
