CKSC, Adamson gain Freego semis

MANILA, Philippines - Chiang Kai Shek College and Adamson dominated the elims and sent two teams each in the semifinals of the third Headstart Developmental Basketball League (HDBL) Freego Kids Cup at the SGS gym in QC recently.

Bannered by Christian Dunca, Enzo King and Miguel Dosayla, the CKS Blue Dragons topped the 12-Under division via sweep of eight matches while the Baby Falcons drew big games from Jeff Mailim, Ahmad Hanapi and John Escalante to post six wins in seven games and emerge No. 1 in the 15-U side of the event sponsored by AXA Philippines, World Balance, and Duralite.

Adamson-C also advanced to the semis despite absorbing an 85-68 beating at the hands of Maestro at the close of the elims for a 3-4 mark.

The semis matches are set on Saturday with the two Adamson teams clashing at 3:30 p.m. after the 2:15 p.m. tussle between the Blue Dragons (5-2) and the San Sebastian Staglets (5-3).

Drawing inspired games from Allian Katigbak and JL Salinas, the Philippine Elite A finished second with a 6-2 card in the 12-U. Joining CKSC and Phl Elite A are Phl Elite B (6-3) and San Sebastian (5-3).

In the semis, it will be CKSC and SSC tangling at 1 p.m. while the two Phl Elite squads disputing the other final berth at 4:45 p.m.
