Red Cross MVR3 fun run tomorrow

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Red Cross has invited running and fitness enthusiasts to vie in its fun run dubbed as Million Volunteer Run 3 (MVR3) aimed to raise funds for its humanitarian programs. The event is set tomorrow in various run sites.

Tagged as the country’s largest fun run for humanity, MVR3 will gather Red Cross volunteers and supporters in 59 run sites all over the country.

In Metro Manila, run sites will be at the following: Mall of Asia, Bonifacio Global City, Quezon Memorial Circle and Marikina Heights. For all run sites, assembly would be from 4 a.m. to 5 a.m., with gun start at 5:30 a.m.

A post run program will be held from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., which would include games and a raffle draw.

“There’s no better reason to run, aside from personal health and well-being, than to run for the welfare of suffering humanity. When you run for the cause of the Red Cross, you are in effect running to save lives,” said PRC chairman Richard Gordon.

Proceeds from the event will be used to fund PRC’s programs for survivors of the most devastating disasters the country has experienced, as well as the purchase of additional life-saving equipment and vehicles, like rescue ambulances.

Funds raised will also allow the PRC to continue to provide rescue and blood services to all its chapters in the country.

To personally register, runners can visit the PRC national headquarters at 37 EDSA corner Boni Avenue, Mandaluyong or any Red Cross chapter.
