MANILA, Philippines – Adamson University blasted University of Santo Tomas, 10-0, in just four innings, to extend its remarkable winning run to 63 in the UAAP Season 78 softball tournament on Monday at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.
Queenie Sabobo homered in the second inning as the six-peat seeking Lady Falcons scored four runs to pull away for good, 6-0.
Sabobo, the reigning Home Run queen, also had five RBIs to lead the way for Adamson University, which also leaned on solid pitching from two-time MVP Analie Benjamen.
In other games, National University edged a surprisingly tough Ateneo side, 2-1, to seize the early lead with a 2-0 record, while University of the East nosed out De La Salle, 4-3, to enter the win column.
The Lady Warriors tied the Tigresses with a 1-1 card, while the Lady Eagles and the Lady Archers dropped to their second consecutive loss in the young season.
