MANILA, Philippines – The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, led by its president Manny V. Pangilinan, called on all national members to submit their updated Membership Information Sheet (MIS), along with other pertinent documents showing that they had conducted the required number of tournaments in the last two years, in preparation for the coming SBP general elections in April.
Pangilinan, chairman of PLDT and Smart, announced in a press conference last October that he would step down after two consecutive terms, along with 12 other SBP officials.
All requirements may be sent to the Nominations and Membership Committee at the SBP office on the ground floor, Philippine Sports Commission Building A, Philsports Complex, Meralco Avenue, Pasig City 1604 until 5 p.m. on Jan. 25.

SBP is preparing the groundwork for the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in July. The hosting rights were awarded by the International Basketball Federation to the cities of Manila (Philippines), Turin (Italy) and Belgrade (Serbia) a few days ago.
The draws for the 18-team competition where the three champions will qualify to the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games are scheduled on Tuesday at the House of Basketball in Mies, Switzerland.
