Hawaii Fil-Am vows better finish in World Slasher
MANILA, Philippines – Damon Yorkman primes up his aces for the World Slasher Cup, seeking no less than a victory when the keenly awaited event is held Jan. 30-Feb. 7 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Hawaiian, a grandson of an Ilocano migrant, is out to improve on his 6-2 (win-loss) record last year, hoping to emerge victorious with his aces from his Black Cobra Gamefarm back in Oklahoma against a slew of top-notch roosters from an expected record number of participants.
Fighting alongside the JM Fantastic group, Yorkman has already fought in the Cebu International Derby earlier this month where he scored 5-2.
Meanwhile, the WSC eight-cock invitational derby, sponsored by Thunderbird Platinum and Thunderbird Bexan XP, will have three separate two-cock elims on Jan. 30-31 and Feb. 1 where each entry will be fighting two roosters each.
The two-cock semifinals will be held on Feb. 2-4, wherein all the entries may continue to fight, including those with two losses in the elims.
After a break on Feb. 5, action heats up with the pre-finals on Feb. 6 with those with scores of 2, 2.5 and 3 points vying in the four-cock phase.
The four-cock grand finals is set on Feb. 7 wherein all undefeated entries with scores of 3.5 or 4 points will slug it out for the championship.
Entry fee is pegged at P88,000 with a minimum bet requirement of P33,000.
