Fines rain on Yeng
MANILA, Philippines – Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao has accumulated P55,000 fines in the PBA Philippine Cup Final Four as he drew P35,000 for three different offenses in Game Four of the ROS-San Miguel Beer series Monday night.
Rain or Shine assistant team manager Jay Legacion, assistant coach Mike Buendia and players Jewel Ponferada, Paul Lee and Arwind Santos were sanctioned for their respective infractions in the game that netted a total fine of P56,000.
Guiao was heavily hit for his post-game statement regarding the officiating – another cost he has to pay following a P20,000 fine for his physical contact on Chris Ross in a dead ball situation in Game One of their semis playoff.
The fiery ROS mentor was fined P20,000 for hitting on the officiating, P10,000 for flashing a dirty finger sign during the game and P5,000 for leaving the bench during an altercation sparked by a flagrant foul by Arwind Santos on Gabe Norwood.
Legacion, Buendia and Ponferada also entered the floor during the commotion. They were fined P5,000 each for that.
Santos was fined the same amount for the flagrant infraction.
Lee, meanwhile, drew a fine of P1,000 for a technical foul.
