Prima Pasta honors 2015 top bowlers
MANILA, Philippines - National mainstays Kenneth Chua and Krizziah Tabora shared the limelight as they were feted as the 2015 Prima Pasta Bowlers of the Year during the recent Team Prima athletes’ recognition night at the V Corporate Center in Makati City.
Chua, 24, regained the plum he previously won two years ago, getting the nod after seven victories spiked by four perfect games this year.
Tabora, for her part, netted the award in the distaff side for the second straight year, highlighting her feat with a triumph in the TBAM Open and a bronze medal in the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore as member of the women’s team.
Siblings Bea and Enzo Hernandez won the Junior Bowler of the Year awards after another remarkable campaign. Bea rolled her first career perfect game during the Asian Schools Bowling Championships in Hong Kong.
Also feted were Eboy Farr (back-to-back Cyclist of the Year); Cha Pagdilao (Photographer of the Year); Ghiselle Bautista (Girls’ Junior Badminton Player of the Year); Pingkoy Salvado (Boys’ Junior Badminton Player of the Year); Aires Montilla (Women Badminton Player of the Year); Gregg Paz (Men’s Badminton Player of the Year); Clarence Tiu (Men’s Bowler of the Year Cebu); Xyrra Cabusas (women’s Bowler of the Year Cebu); Duke Gella (Men’s Most improved Bowler); and Dale Lazo (Women’s Most Improved Bowler).
The annual awards night was organized by Team Prima chairman Alexander Lim and Wolo Lim.
Chua emerged victorious in the PTBA Open Mixed Open Masters, SLETBA Open Masters Champion, and Philippine National Open Masters while taking first runner-up honors in the World Cup National Finals and SCTBA Open, and placing second runner-up in Henrich Cup Open Masters and TBAM Easter Open Masters.
“This award is a fruit of all of the efforts and hard work in training,” said Chua, who also thanked his parents, Japanese coach Madoka Amano, Lim, and sponsor Smart Communications.
