MANILA, Philippines -- Christmas came early for Team Lakay as the Baguio-based fighters swept all of their six matches in the third installment of the Pacific Extreme Combat – Laban MMA held in the Baguio Convention Center in front of a raucuous home crowd.
Danny Kingad led the Team Lakay Fighters' romp with second round win via submission against Catalan Fighting System’s very own Robin Catalan. Kingad executed a very rare North South Kimura hold to chalk up the victory.
Rex De Lara of Mumma Fight Factory won against Keiff Mangusan via unanimous decision in what went down as the Fight of the Night in the co-main event.
Other Lakay Fighters that took their matches were; Joshua Pacio earning a referee stoppage in the 1st round against Ric Myler Empil of the Amazing Kapagway MMA, who caught a right hand with his nose that resulted to an excessive bleeding, Jeremy Pacatiw also earning a first round victory by executing rear naked choke on Jeff Biron from the D’ Elements MMA Gym, Delfin Nawin stopping Team UGB MMA’s Jayson Margallo with a choke in the 2nd round at the 1:42 mark, and Jon Olivar Jr making Johnson Alde of Hitman Training Camp do a verbal submission in the middle of the 2nd round.
Other fights include Neil Larano of Fist Gym earning a unanimous decision win over Darwin Camusol of Team Torogi, Cris Aplicador of Biagtan Muay Thai defeating Danilo Dilag of Safehouse MMA after a referee stoppage due to a separated shoulder, Franklin Donglay of Team Torogi executing a rear-naked choke on Xtreme Boxing Gym’s Jiar Castillo in the 48th second mark in 2nd round and Francis Romero of Subsports coming up with a fury of punches that TKO’d Joseph Pasiwat of Tribal Submission.
