Kiefer, Alyssa join volley for charity

MANILA, Philippines - Kiefer Ravena and Alyssa Valdez, popular collegiate athletes in their respective sports, will team up along with some popular sports personalities in a  charity volleyball game, dubbed “FASTBR3AK,” on Wednesday at The Arena in San Juan City.

Ravena and Valdez, the former a two-time MVP in UAAP basketball and the latter a double MVP winner in UAAP volleyball both for Ateneo, join Gretchen Ho, Denden Lazaro, Michelle Gumabao, Charo Soriano among others in a one-day event held to raise funds for the benefit of victims of Typhoon Nona.

“We want to help them in the spirit of Christmas,” said Ravena, who had also organized charity events in the past.

“We hope they won’t be too devastated by what happened and this is one way of making them happy this Christmas,” he added.

Also joining the event, which starts at 2 p.m., are volley pros Bang Pineda, Jen Reyes, Ella de Jesus, Sue Roces and showbiz personalities Yayo Aguila, Arny Ross, IC Mendoza, Casey de Silva and sportscasters Mozzy Ravena and Miakka Lim.

Tickets, worth P250 and P500, will be available starting Dec. 21 in Ally’s All-Day Breakfast Place outlets in Malingap and Holy Spirit Drive, Quezon City.

Side events will also be conducted, including an iPhone 6 raffle sponsored by Smart and a hula hoop contest between Valdez and an audience member.
