MANILA, Philippines - Isulan, Sultan Kudarat bets Carlyn Bless Guarde and Minette April Bentillo picked up where they left off from the previous leg by emerging double winners anew in the recently concluded Surallah, South Cotabato leg of the 2015 Cebuana Lhuillier Age Group Tennis Championship.
Guarde squared off with the same opponent, Angel Cagadas, in the finals of both the 16-under and 18-U, beating Cagadas 8-3 in the younger age category and repeating, 8-4 in the 18-U in tne tournament, which attracted close to 100 entries.
Bentillo pocketed the 12-U and 14-U crowns against different opponents. She beat local bet Juliana Viloria, 8-1, in the 12-U and defeated Joyce Sapitanan from Tacurong City with the same score in the 14-U.
In the boys’ side of the tournament, also supported by Dunlop Sport and the host LGU, local bet Edczar Jay Sta. Maria won the 12-U crown, beating, another local bet Jose Balonga, 8-1, and the 14-U title by disposing of Sultan Kudarat’s Wilfred Bentillo, 8-4.
Another Isulan bet, Vince EJ Tugade, emerged champion in the 16-U over Kidapawan City’s Lisandro Jefferson Alqueza, 9-7. Alqueza took the 18-U crown with an 8-5 win over Tugade, 8-5.
Two local players Marshall Ben Mission and Hernie Angelo Aguinaldo met in the finals of the 10-U unisex category with Mission winning, 5-4 , 4-0.
