New NCA derby season unwraps
MANILA, Philippines - More than 120 fights, featuring the aces of the country’s leading breeders and cockers, mark the opening of the new National Cockers Alliance derby season today at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Hosts Elan Nagaño and Ito Ynares have invited the top gamefowl aficionados and cockfighting enthusiasts in the country to participate in the derby, including Mayor Goto, Gerry Ramos, Bong Pineda, Atty. Salazar, Danny Bulldog, Fiscal Villanueva, Tokwing, Engr. Marfori, Henry Tan, Manny Kho, Atty. Jun Mendoza, Pol Estrellado, and T. Sevilla.
Cockfighting remains as one of the most popular sports in the country with the NCA providing fans the thrill with the nerve-wracking fights and nonstop action among the top cockfighters’ aces.
Meanwhile, part of the proceeds of all NCA derbies goes to the NCA scholarship fund for college students at the University of the Philippines-Los Baños.
The next NCA derby will be on Jan. 5 to be hosted by Claude Bautista and Barkadahan ng Rizal.
