Magramo fights Buca tonight
MANILA, Philippines - Giemel Magramo, son of ex-Orient and Philippine champion Melvin Magramo, will battle tough Jeny Buca for the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) international flyweight crown starting at 6 p.m. today at the Grandballroom of the Elorde Sports Center on Sucat Road, Parañaque.
Promoter Johnny Elorde said the title fight was approved during the recent WBC convention in Kunming, China, with WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman as presiding officer.
Magramo, one of Elorde ‘s prized fighters, holds a record of 14 wins, 11 by knockouts and no defeat while Buca has 10 wins, 10 knockouts against two losses.
The supporting mainer will also be as explosive as Juan Martin “Bai” Elorde, the current WBO Asia Pacific superfeatherweight champion, and younger brother Juan Miguel Elorde, the WBO Asia Pacific superbantamweight titlist, will stake their world rankings against Indonesian fighters.
Bai will face Master Suro while Mig is set to battle former Indonesian champion Rasmanudin in 10-round bouts that will serve as tune-up fights for the Elorde brothers who are set to defend their WBO Asia-Pacific crown in March during the Elorde Annual Awards.
