Foton edges closer to title, trips MNU
MANILA, Philippines - Levi Hernandez took charge down the stretch as Pampanga Foton downed Manila National U-MFT, 76-69, to move a win closer to the Filsports Basketball Association Second Conference crown at the Colegio de San Sebastian Gym in San Fernando, Pampanga Tuesday night.
Hernandez fired 13 points, including a three-point play in the final minute that stymied the Bulldogs’ rally and gave the Toplanders a 1-0 lead in their best-of-three series.
All Mangahas paced the Toplanders with 17 points and added seven rebounds to bag the Korgivit E Best Player of the Game honors.
Jerick Nacpil and Allen Enriquez contributed 16 and 15 points, respectively, for Foton.
Bullstrong Issa Gaye exploded with a game-high 23 points he spiked with nine rebounds while the pair of Kim Cinco and Rendell Senining chipped in 11 markers apiece for the Mica Tan-backed Bulldogs.
