Southwoods Chair Cup golf draws huge field

MANILA, Philippines - Over 400 players set out for a battle royale when the Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club holds its premier tournament – the Chairman’s Cup, starting tomorrow at the Masters and Legends courses in Carmona, Cavite.

A brand-new car, a cruise and a trip to the US will be up for grabs for hole-in-one feats in the two-day tournament, presented by Bangs Tony and Jackey Salons.

Mitsubishi Motors is putting up a Mirage G4 GLS A/T Sedan, supported by Diamond Motors, while Royal Caribbean-Baron Travel is offering a Mediterranean Greek Isle cruise for two, inclusive of airfare, for aces.

Southwoods general manager Mark Watson said if no one scores an ace, the car and the Royal Caribbean cruise will be raffled off.

Philippine Airlines, on the other hand, will be raffling off two business class tickets to the US. Other major sponsors of the event are Mit Air Sales Center, Southwoods Club Fitters and Agrexplore Corp. with Resorts World to provide entertainment during awards rites.

All participants will receive MyPhone with golf apps and a battery charger. Other product sponsors are San Miguel/Purefoods, Megafiber, Le Chef, Warbird, Go 21 and Rizgolf.
