MANILA, Philippines - International Pharmaceuticals Inc. (IPI), makers of Casino Rubbing Alcohol and Omega Pain Killer Pro, has cited its drivers Milo and Estefano Rivera for their feats in the ongoing National Slalom Championship Series.
The Rivera brothers are currently the top two points leaders in the series. They were going all-out for victories in yesterday’s final leg at Robinsons Star Mills in San Fernando, Pampanga in their bid to become the first siblings in Philippine slalom to win the top two honors.
“It’s been a fruitful endeavor to have given our contribution in developing new generation champions in Philippine Motorsports and we’re proud that the Rivera brothers delivered in slalom series,” said IPI advertising and promotions manager Tito dela Merced.
The Rivera brothers, in return, have expressed gratitude to IPI and likewise thanked the team’s chief engine tuner and technician Fil Gulfin in providing a very competitive setup in each race of the series all year long.
Meanwhile, Milo Rivera virtually completed a back-to-back feat with a total of 143.5 points after steering his Casino Ethyl Alcohol-Toyota Starlet to nine victories and two runner-up finishes in the past 11 legs.
Younger brother Estefano Rivera also hogged the spotlight with his impressive clocking of 47.42 seconds aboard his Omega Pain Killer Pro-Toyota Starlet in the last leg in Novaliches.
With four runner-up finishes, five third-place efforts and a fourth place finish in the previous legs, Estefano Rivera moved to second place overall with 104 points, 4.5 points ahead of former champion Dr. Peewee Mendiola, who pooled 99.5 points for third.
However, the duo must stop Mendiola from taking the final leg and Estefano Rivera must finish ahead of the veteran former champion to complete their title bid.
“This is one rare crack at history in Philippine Motorsports, particularly in slalom, and we will do our best to achieve the feat,” said Milo Rivera.
