MANILA, Philippines - Tickets to Game Three of the UAAP showdown for the men’s crown between UST and FEU, to use a movie blurb, were sold out “fast and furious” and gone before they were put on sale days before the scheduled match up tomorrow.
There were long lines at ticket outlets in various SM malls with people eager to grab a ticket or two for rubbermatch of the UAAP Season 78 Finals between the Tamaeaws and the Growling Tigers at the MOA Arena.
A lot woke up early to queue up ahead of mall opening to get first crack at the hottest item in town. Most buyers came home disappointed after security guards announced that tickets were already “sold out.”
Some still refused to leave in the hope there would be fresh stock of tickets to be sold for the blockbuster winner-take-all.
Buying tickets online through the SM Tickets website wasn’t possible anymore too. As of 3 p.m. yesterday, the only UAAP event in the site was the women’s finals slated Dec. 2.
“The struggle is real #UAAPtickets,” posted one frustrated fan on Twitter.
“This is crazy! UAAP tickets are sold out! Is it real?” wrote another.
One even suggested that the much-in-demand rubbermatch be played at the 55,000-seater Philippine Arena instead to accommodate fans of both schools.
“Enterprising” individuals who got their hands on tickets are expected to take advantage of the situation and re-sell them at higher prices.
