MANILA, Philippines – Having gone nearly all over the country, the annual PBA All-Star spectacle breaks new ground as it holds its first foray abroad, bringing cheers, fun and excitement to OFWs in Dubai next year.

PBA business development director Rhose Montreal said they have had an agreement with a Dubai organizing group for the staging of the 2016 PBA All-Star event in the UAE capital city on March 4-6.

The PBA has been drawing sellout crowds of Filipino workers in Dubai which the local pro league has been frequenting for years now, the latest, only a few weeks back, featuring Alaska Milk in back-to-back games versus Mahindra and Barangay Ginebra.

And the PBA has built a good working relationship with organizing partner Clique Events Co.

The Dubai event will be a new milestone for the PBA on its 41st season.

This will be the first All-Stars under commissioner Chito Narvasa.

The PBA has been holding the All-Star festivities for over two decades now, allowing the fans to mingle closely with the league stars in this annual event.

The first PBA All-Stars held outside Metro Manila was in Cebu in 1998.

The PBA All Stars has also been featured in Iloilo in 2000, back in Cebu in 2004, Laoag in 2005, Cagayan de Oro in 2006, Baguio in 2007, Bacolod in 2008, Panabo City and Victorias City in 2009, Puerto Princesa in 2010, Boracay in 2011, Laoag in 2012, Digos City in 2013 and back in Puerto Princesa last year.
