Philracom to sponsor owners-breeders race

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Racing Commission will be sponsoring one of the major races of the 16th Philippine Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Grand Championship Day on Nov. 29 at the Santa Ana Park.

Contessa, Sippin Beauty, Most Trusted, Sky Glory, and Luneta Park banner the roster in the 1,600-meter Philtobo-Philracom Juvenile Fillies Championship, which offers a total prize fund of P1 million.

Three other Philtobo championship races – the Juvenile Championship, Santa Ana Park 3YO Colts and Fillies, and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office Classic – are also on tap featuring the elite runners from their respective groups.

“In line with our agency’s mandate to support racing events, we are pleased to sponsor Philtobo’s championship day, as we have done for the other horseowner’s events held earlier this year,” said Philracom chairman Andrew Sanchez.

Philracom is also the major sponsor of the Metropolitan Association of Race Horse Owners Platinum Racing Festival staged last Nov. 8, the Klub Don Juan de Manila event in October, and the Mayor Ramon Bagatsing Racing Festival in August. All are annual events that have become much-awaited traditions in a large part due to Philracom’s unwavering support of no less than P1 million per event.

Philracom is also one of the backers of the Dec. 13 PCSO Presidential Gold Cup for the same amount, as an added bonus to the P3 million provided by PCSO.
