Ayo DLSU new mentor?

Olmin Leyba - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - De La Salle’s search for new coach took a surprising twist yesterday as an unlikely name emerged – Aldin Ayo of NCAA champion Letran.

Ayo became a hot property after helping the Knights to overachieve and topple the six-peat-seeking San Beda in the recent NCAA finals.

A source said the 38-year-old Ayo met with La Salle patron Danding Cojuangco and the Green Archers themselves last night at the New World Hotel, further fueling talks that he might be the new man at the post vacated by Juno Sauler.

Another source said Ayo already said goodbye to Letran players, too.

But legal issues could hinder Ayo’s reported transfer to La Salle as he still has a contract with Letran that’s still good for three more years.
