Sauler led the Green Archers to the championship of the 76th UAAP season, when they beat the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers in three games in 2013. It was his rookie year as the Green and White's head coach.
Sauler himself also donned the Archers uniforms. He saw action in 1991 through 1994.
He was Gee Abanilla's deputy for two years before taking picking up the cudgels in June 8, 2013.
Among Sauler' coaching stints include serving as an assistant for the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and as the head coach of the Lady Archers. He snared three UAAP championships over at the women's side.
