Parks, Jr. scoreless in NBA D-League debut
MANILA, Philippines -- Fil-Am guard Bobby Ray Parks, Jr. started his NBA D-League career on the wrong foot in a forgettable 25-point loss on the road.
The Texas Legends fell apart in the middle quarters allowing the Austin Spurs to run away with a 106-81 win at the start of the 2015-16 NBA D-League season on Friday (Saturday) Manila time.
The Legends got outscored in the second quarter by 10, 30-20, and by 13, 27-14, in the third frame as the Spurs' lead ballooned to insurmountable 28 points, 88-60, entering the final period.
Parks, Jr. went scoreless in 10 minutes of play missing his two attempts from the field while committing two fouls and one turnover.
The Fil-Am guard entered the game with 3:53 left in the opening quarter and committed a turnover a minute later.
He did not attempt a shot until the fourth quarter but missed both with the first - a running jumper - got blocked.
He was replaced at the 6:39 mark and never returned to the floor.
Parks, Jr. and the Legends will be looking to bounce back on the road once again against the Oklahoma City Blue on Sunday (Monday Manila time).
Meanwhile, Victor Jean Nguidjol, the 16th overall selection, nine picks ahead of Parks, Jr. did not see action for the Spurs.
The 19-year old Indian giant Satnam Singh scored four points on 2-of-4 shooting and added three rebounds and one shot block.
