Foton edges Malolos for solo FBA lead

MANILA, Philippines – Pampanga Foton downed Malolos Mighty Bulsu and Manila NU-MFT in one day to seize the solo lead in the Filsports Basketball Association at the Malolos Sports and Convention Center Tuesday night.

The Tornadoes drew strength from Jerick Nackpil's 23-point effort to trounce the Mighty Bulsu, 100-92, and then leaned on Marvin Moraga's 19-point peformance hours later to turn back the Mica-backed Bulldogs, 76-70, to zoom to the top with a perfect 4-0 (win-loss) record.

Malolos bounced back from its stinging defeat to Pampanga Foton with a pulsating 100-96 triumph over Marikina Wangs, thanks to Ernest Reyes getting most of the job done with 34 points and 11 rebounds.

In the only other match of the day, Francis Abarcar unloaded a game-best 24 points as he powered the Quezon City UP Maroons toan 81-71 win over a Nic Belasco-led Pateros Austen Morris Associates to remain in the hunt.

The FBA, a member of the Samahang Basketol ng Pilipinas, will have its games aired via-Aksyon TV from Mondays to Sunday except Thursday and Saturday with other airings over Aksyon TV International, selected games on Net25 and Fox Sports International.
