AGC 24th invitational golf under way

MANILA, Philippines - The 24th Architects Golf Classic annual invitational golf tournament gets under way today with 250 architects and their friends in the construction industry vying for top honors in various divisions at the Orchard Golf and Country Club in Dasmariñas, Cavite.

The event will have a two-shotgun tee-off at 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. with Justin Ongsue and Jerry Cham of Boysen Paints expected to hit the ceremonial drive at 5:45 a.m.

Format of the tournament is Modified Stableford while Blind Callaway will be used in the sponsors division. The awards rites will be held at the Orchard Grand ballroom right after the game of the second batch.

The annual event is organized by architects Gene Arthur Go (chairman) and Adones Baluyut (president) with support from Art Alcantara, Ed Casares, Egay Pasion, Don de Guzman and Pinoy Cruz.

Sammy Esguerra, a painting contractor, spearheaded the event 24 years ago with support from Boysen Paints.
