MANILA, Philippines – Judiciary hopes to get going after a poor start as it clashes with House of Representatives tomorrow at the close of its first round assignment in the fourth UNTV Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
The defending champion Magis must beat the Solons in their 5 p.m. showdown to get back into the thick of things after dropping three matches in their first four games in the tournament organized by UNTV headed by Daniel Razon for the country’s public servants.
Banking heavily on the hot shooting of guard Warren Ybañez, the Magis ended a three-game skid with an 89-83 win over the Ombudsman Graft Busters in Group B last month.
The Solons, in contrast, are still reeling from an 82-66 loss to the Metro Manila Development Authority Black Wolves for a 1-2 card.
In other Group B matches, MMDA collides with winless Ombudsman while Department of Justice tackles Government Service Insurance System in a battle of Group A teams with 1-3 records.
Armed Forces of the Philippines completed a five-game sweep of Group B elims with a 107-94 triumph over Ombudsman last week.
