Del Rosario gains share of Thai Am lead with 70

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Pauline del Rosario missed grabbing the solo lead with a three-putt miscue on No. 15, settling for a two-under 70 and sharing the opening day spotlight with local ace Paphangkorn Tavatanakit in the Thailand Ladies Amateur Open at the Phoenix Golf Club in Pattaya, Thailand late Wednesday.

Del Rosario, coming off a successful title retention campaign at Canlubang Amateur Open early this month, flashed superb form as she birdied three of the first 11 holes inside eight feet but dropped a shot on the 15th after three-putting from 30 feet out.

But her 34-36 card kept the top The Country Club bet in the hunt for the HM Queen Rambhai Barni Trophy.

Tavatanakit matched the Filipina ace’s 34-36 card while Sofia Legaspi, also of the Philippines, stood a stroke behind with a 71.
