MANILA, Philippines – Armed Forces tries to extend its winning streak to four games when it faces House of Representatives in Group B tomorrow in the fourth UNTV Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Despite a three-week break, the AFP Cavaliers are still favored over the HOR Solons in their 3:30 p.m. encounter due to their decisive edge in height and vast experience.

Out to lead the inaugural champions are veteran playmakers Eugene Tan and Boyet Bautista and frontliners Jeffrey Quiambao, Rolando Pascual and Paulino Fernandez – all standing at 6-foot-3.

The 5-foot-7 Bautista, who played a key role in Letran’s last NCAA championship in 2005, exploded for 26 points in the team’s 89-81 win over the Kenneth Duremdes-led Senate last Sept. 24.

Meantime, Malacañang eyes a share of Group A lead when it tackles National Housing Authority at 2 p.m. while the Senate Defenders hope to snap a two-game skid when it collides with the GSIS Furies at 5 p.m.

AFP remains as the only unbeaten team in the tournament after the Malacañang Patriots halted the three-game winning streak of the PNP Responders, 75-71, last week in a win that improved the latter’s record to 2-1.

Organized by UNTV president and CEO Daniel Razon, the tournament offers P2 million to the champion team which it will donate to its chosen charity.
