Water, beach sports up at fair boat show

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Water and beach sports will again be among the main attractions of the second edition of Sea Fair Boat Show set Dec. 5-6 at the SM by the Bay in Pasay.

“We have an exciting lineup of water and beach sports for this second staging of the Sea Fair Boat Show, including dragon boat rowing and sailing,” said Ey Bacasmas-Po of the organizing Legworks Events Management at the PSA Forum at Shakey’s Malate Tuesday.

Bacasmas said other sports in the two-day marine and boat exposition featuring the industry’s leaders will be beach tennis and volleyball and the Sea Fair Poker (powerboat) run.

In beach tennis she said rackets to be used are “paddle bats” and light orange balls, adding that they will invite sports and entertainment celebrities to play in the matches.

The Legworks accounts director said dragon boat, rowing and sailing competitions will be conducted by the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation and Philippine Sailing Association.

Among the exciting sports events, she said, is the Sea Fair Poker Run where power boat riders will go through checkpoints, picking cards in their bid to come up with “the best hand” until they reach the finish line.

Bacasmas said the premier firms in the marine and boat industry will be showcasing their equipment, gear, apparel and accessories during the two-day trade fair.

“So we would like to invite everyone to our show and get a glimpse of the newest developments in the marine and boating industry,” Bacasmas said.
