Gortat nets 19 as Wizards beat Paschoalotto Bauru

WASHINGTON — Marcin Gortat scored 19 points and Bradley Beal added 17 to help the Washington Wizards rout Brazil's Paschoalotto Bauru 134-100 on Sunday night (Monday morning in Manila).
The Wizards pulled away with a 16-2 run in the second quarter. They led by 20 at intermission and had a 101-68 edge after three quarters.
After going 4 of 23 from 3-point range Friday night in a loss to New York, the Wizards found their range. They shot 57.1 percent (48 of 84) from the field, including 43.3 percent (13 of 30) on 3-pointers.
Drew Gooden had 15 points, going 3 of 6 from 3-point range. Otto Porter added 12 points, and Chris Humphries had 11 points and nine rebounds. Robert Day and Leo Meindl each scored 17 points for Paschoalotto Bauru, and Rafael Hettsheimeir had 16.
SICK BAY: The Wizards were without G Garrett Temple (left hamstring), C/F DeJuan Blair (left knee), G/F Alan Anderson (left ankle), F Jared Dudley (back) and G/F Martell Webster (right hip).
NENE RETURNS: After missing the second half Friday, Nene (back) returned. He was in the starting lineup against his fellow countrymen and finished with 11 points in 16 minutes.
OUBRE ON BOARD: Wizards rookie forward Kelly Oubre Jr., who went 0 for 7 in his preseason debut Friday, scored his first points with a second-quarter dunk. He finished with five points.
UP NEXT: The Wizards finish their exhibition schedule with four road games, beginning Friday night in Philadelphia (Saturday morning in Manila).
