Highlands holds charity golf for Sisters of Mary
MANILA, Philippines - While guaranteeing a grand 10th Highlands Ladies Cup staging, the organizing Tagaytay Highlands Ladies Chapter also reiterates its commitment to support its favorite charity when the event is held Saturday at the Tagaytay Midlands Golf Club in Tagaytay.
Part of the proceeds from the 18-hole tournament, backed by Diamond sponsors Auto Nation Group Inc., W Group Inc. and Pacific Online, will go to the Sisters of Mary and the Boys and Girls Town in Silang, Cavite with the mission of education for employment.
The Sisters of Mary Girls Town and Boys Town have produced more than 60,000 graduates since the establishment of the school in the mid-1980s.
“We are pulling all stops to make it the biggest tournament ever with a record number of sponsors and prizes to boot,” said tournament chairman Dionne Cu. “We also would like to reiterate our continued support to the Sisters of Mary.”
The Sisters of Mary is a project started by THLC founding chairman Marixi Prieto.
To make the event more memorable, 10 next generation Highlanders will grace the event by hitting the ceremonial drives. They will later join the 18-hole tournament supported by Platinum sponsors Bingo Bonanza, PLDT-SME, Security Bank, SM Store and Smart Communications and Gold backer Pilipinas Shell.
They include Michael Albert, Gabby Borja, Sofia Jayme, Franchesca Imperial, Ben Romualdez, Luis Tuason, Monty Vergara, John Ethan Wee Jr., Clarisse Wong and Julianne Wong, children and grand children of THLC members. Making up the Silver sponsors list are Baron Travel/Royal Caribbean Cruise, Pagcor, Petron, Regent Travel and SM Prime.
